Core Concept: Synchronization

Synchronization is a core concept of DAO4Sync. It will keep the files and folders of your DAO4Sync Drive in sync to your mobile.

Following picture shows the different system components involved:

Sync Model

Basically, the user is working with her/his application of choice with the DAO4Sync Drive.

Connected

In connected state to your mobile, there are two configuration modes which will be influencing the synchronization process:

Sync All Files

Sync All Files, means every file or folder operation processed by the DAO4Sync Drive (e.g. create, delete, rename, update etc.) will be automatically also done on your mobile’s data storage side. So your mobile data and the data within the DAO4Sync Drive will be directly in synchronization.

Sync only User selected files

Sync only User selected files, means the synchronization process will synchronize only files of your choice with your mobile storage.

Please use the Options dialog to change the configured sync mode.

Not Connected

Not connected to your mobile, you work only with your DAO4Sync Drive. After reconnecting an update of the corresponding files or folders will be done, automatically by the DAO4Sync Synchronization Engine.

Synchronization Control

It is possible to explicitly disable the synchronization on file or folder level. That means, in case of disabling the synchronization, you work normally with the application of your choice, but no update to your mobile will be done. You can then e.g. after finishing your work reactivating the synchronization to update your mobile’s data again.
Influencing the Synchronization of folders can be done via your file or folder related context menu.
