GImage Sync

When using your mobile’s camera it’s a huge benefit to automatically synchronize the taken pictures to a service for later organizing and editing of your pictures, e.g. Picasa. With the new DAO4Sync Mobile Edition you just have to configure once which folder and how often a possible synchronization respectively upload should take place (e.g. every 30 minutes, hour etc.). 

The synchronized pictures will be collected in an album designation of the time stamp of the pictures. That means pictures taken at e.g. 21.10.2009 will be all collected in album with the title 2009-10-21.

User and password are the login data of your Picasa account (password will be encrypted). If are located within an intranet use the proxy server to go to the internet. When the pictures have been uploaded successfully you can move them to the folder for uploaded pictures, e.g. to free up your mobile’s memory card storage. How often the synchronization will take place will be triggered via the seek time setting.

Start the synchronization with the synchronization monitor, enable auto-starting of configured folder synchronizations with the Options dialog of the Synchronization Engine.

Mail Feeds

The mail feed functionality will get the mails and possible attachments from the POP3 or Exchange server of your choice and copy them to the DAO4Sync Drive. The DAO4Sync Synchronization Engine will synchronize the data to the connected mobile. Idea is, if you use a wireless connectivity (e.g. Bluetooth) you can get the mails and attachment in the range, the used wireless technology will offer you.

The following picture is showing a possible mail feed folder structure:

The folder bill@myCompany is the root folder for the mail feed. Subfolders will collect the receive days, times, mail subject and mail content file, additionally possible attachments. 

Configure Mail Feeds

To configure a possible mail feed you have to launch the Windows properties dialog for the folder being root folder for the mail feed.

Most of the attributes and example values should be self-explanatory.

  • The italic attributes on the left hand side are read-only fields and cannot be modified.

  • Seek Time means the time interval your mail server will be contacted for new messages.

  • Sync Range will control if only mails should be retrieved newer than the last connection, or all mails you probably have.

  • Mail Status (only Exchange) means if read or only unread messages or both should be retrieved from

  • Last Sync Date is the time stamp of the last connect to your mail server. You can modify it, to get also older mails.
